This activity was really fun to do with the boys, and also a fun way to practice memory skills.
First, using felt, I cut out the shapes shown below--green hat, black strip, yellow buckle, green shamrock. (You could also use construction paper):
I put the shapes on the hat and had the boys look at it.
Then I took the shapes off and they tried to put the shapes back on the way they had seen.
Below are some of the various ways I placed the shapes.
I was especially surprised at how well LB(2) performed this task. It was a fun and easy way to practice memory skills.
